This stunning light purple wildflower has a golden-brown center that is used to make herbal teas. These vigorous plants have long stems that can grow up to 5 ft. tall. It boasts long lasting flowers that also looks great in a vase. These beauties can be seen from afar, making them perfect for creating that roaming meadow in your backyard. This variety is one of the easiest echinacea to grow, and doesn't require stratification in order to germinate. You can use the flowers, leaves, and roots of this plant for tea. Its fibrous roots are easy to harvest, but should be grown for 3-4 years before you harvest the roots. Purple Echinacea is a great food source for butterflies and bees, and when left to overwinter the birds love it too. Grows in zones 3-10.
