Description: Whirleybird Nasturtiums are an early producing variety that produces semi-doubled, 2 1/2 inch, warm, jewel toned flowers amongst dark green, lily pad shaped foliage. These flowers stand straight up, and bloom in beautiful shades of reds, peach, orange, cream, and gold. Nasturtiums flowers, seeds, and leaves are edible and can be added to a variety of dishes. The flowers offer a tangy, peppery, watercress flavor, and are great added to salads, or used as a garnish, and its seeds make delicious caper replacements. They're super easy to grow, readily reseed themselves, and deter aphids, whiteflies, cucumber beetles, and other pesky garden bugs. You can even use these bad boys as cut flowers. This variety can grow up to 18 inches tall, and look great in hanging baskets, but can also be planted at garden borders, and in regular containers as well.
