Description: Roman Chamomile is one of those herbs that we all use and love in herbal teas, cuisine, and even in cosmetic products.  These cute, tiny, daisy-like, white petaled flowers have bright yellow centers and a lovely, aromatic, fruity scent that I honestly can't get enough of.  It is also not as bitter in flavor as the German variety, however, it doesn't produce as many flowers.  Roman Chamomile, unlike its German counterpart grows low to the ground, about 6 inches in height, and loves to spread into a dense plant, once it's established.  It makes a beautiful ground cover, with its fernlike, evergreen foliage, and its plants can easily be divided. The flowers bloom from June-to early fall, and are best when picked fully opened.  They can be dried for long term storage, or used freshly picked.  Roman Chamomile does well in partial to full sun, in zones 4-10, and well draining sandy soil.
