Description: Spotted Bee Balm, also known as wild bergamot or dotted mint, is an old time favorite among gardeners and herbalists that is most known for its astonishing beauty and amazing oregano-like fragrance. Spotted Bee Balm has an eccentric look, with lots of flowering stalks boasting clusters of small, creamy yellow, purple and maroon spotted flowers with soft pink and cream colored leaf-bracts. It grows about 2 ft. tall, and spreads through runners, but isn't super aggressive. Bee Balm prefers full sun to light shade, dry to average, well-drained soils, and handles drought exceptionally well. It is cold hardy to a zone 3, and even deer resistant! This flower will attract so many beneficial bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, that you won't know what to do with them all. Plus, the leaves and flowers can be used for tea.
