Black Eyed Susan

$2.99 USD

Seed Count: Approx. 100 seeds

Days to Maturity:  Annual/Perennial

Description: Black Eyed Susans are one of the most widely grown wild flower varieties, and for good reason too.  These little rays of sunshine are native to North America, and or often seen adorning open fields.  They look absolutely stunning in the garden, but also make for beautiful cut flowers.  They produce tons of show stopping, golden yellow, daisy-like, double blooms with dark brown-purple central cones, on long sturdy stems.  Black Eyed Susans belong to the asteraceae family, and often grow over 3 ft. tall with large 6 inch leaves.  These easy to grow flowers will keep blooming all summer long, and even well into the fall, until temperatures drop below freezing.  Butterflies, bees, and other pollinators love its sweet nectar too, so help save the bees and plant these cuties in your garden.  Black Eyed Susans can tolerate heat, drought, and a range of different soils, however, it does not like poorly drained, wet soils.
