Description: Lilac Spire Delphiniums (also known as larkspur) produce tall, slender flower spikes adorned with lots of soft lilac flowers. This quick growing, quick flowering variety will attract all the hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to your yard. It might even attract the boys too. It grows in a compact habit, making it perfect for containers, and small space gardens. They're deer resistant, grow in full sun to partial shade, and prefer good well draining soil. This annual delphinium grows 3-4 ft. tall, and flowers longer and harder than other perennial varieties. Lilac Spire Delphiniums are also prone to branching, making them great for cut flower arrangements. Plus, the cut flowers have an excellent shelf life, and can last for 10 days in a vase, if kept nice and cool.
